About Ryan
I am from Sonoma County, California, where the wine grows plentiful and the ocean breeze nips the air. I have always been a patron of the arts, and practiced music and even theater from a very young age. It wasn’t until 2018 when I first picked up a camera, and immediately fell in love with the world around me in a way I never fathomed before.
I first began studying photography at Santa Rosa Junior College, where I learned the ins-and-outs of both analog and digital photography. Street and landscape photography became my guilty pleasures, but I loved the chemistry and energy of portrait and event photography, and what it means to capture someone candidly in their happy place.
In Fall 2021, I made the move to Sacramento to attend the BFA-Photography program at Sacramento State. It was here that I would dive head-first into the different ways to use photography to best express my artistic passions and thoughts. I learned to use the medium to unravel and process traumas, and learn how to weave new, brighter narratives into life all the same. I have learned how to root myself to a land and a people, and how to tell the story of both. This is the gift photography has given me, that I will spend my career giving to as many as I can.
In the present, while my guilty pleasures still lie with street and landscapes, my main focus lies with concerts and event photography, as well as portraiture of all kinds.
My Mission
It is my undying wish that my photography leaves a lasting imprint upon you, the world, and how you view both.
If I capture portraits, I vow that each photo captures you the way you want to be seen, and that no matter how you feel about taking pictures, that mine will invite you to fall in love with yourself.
If I capture events, I vow that the photos I produce will leave you remembering not just the event itself, but how it felt to be present. From the energy of a crowded concert to the camaraderie of a family get-together, you’ll recall the energy & joy of the moment like it was yesterday.
If I capture pets, I vow that among their likeness, I will immortalize their character, attitude, joy and the love they hold for you.
This is my promise.
